عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " الْهَدْيُ الصَّالِحُ وَالسَّمْتُ الصَّالِحُ وَالِاقْتِصَادُ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ " . قُلْتُ : لَهُ عِنْدَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ : " خَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ فَايِدٍ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Good conduct, good demeanour and moderation are one part of the forty-seven parts of prophethood." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud recorded it from this Companion with the words: "one of the twenty-five parts of prophethood."
