Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had two slaves, one of them an Abyssinian and the other a Copt. The two of them quarrelled while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was listening. One of them said to the other: "O Abyssinian!" and the other said: "O Copt!" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not speak like this! You are both men from among the Companions of Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Abu Ya'la and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it similarly, except that they have the words "O Copt" in place of "O Nabatean", and "the family of Muhammad" in place of "the Companions of Muhammad". The chain of both reports contains Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, who, despite his weakness, is hasan al-hadith (fair in narration).
