Majma al-Zawaid 12899 — Sneezing, what the sneezer says
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِذَا عَطَسَ خَمِرَ وَجْهُهُ ، وَخَفُضَ صَوْتُهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ وَمِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَا ، وَضَعَّفَهُمَا جَمَاعَةٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ وَمِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَا ، وَضَعَّفَهُمَا جَمَاعَةٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sneezed, he would cover his face and keep his voice low.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Isma'il bin Amr al-Bajali and Mindal bin Ali; both were declared trustworthy, while a group declared them both da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
