Majma al-Zawaid 12891 — Changing names, the names that are prohibited

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: In the Jahiliyyah my name was Abd Kulal, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) named me Abd al-Rahman.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Nasih Abu al-Ala', who is da'if (weak).
