وَعَنْ أَصْرَمَ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي اشْتَرَيْتُ عَبْدًا ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ لَهُ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ، وَسَمِّهِ فَقَالَ : " مَا اسْمُكَ ؟ " . فَقُلْتُ : أَصْرَمَ . قَالَ : " بَلْ زُرْعَةُ ، فَمَا تُرِيدُهُ ؟ " . قَالَ : زَرَّاعًا . قَالَ : " فَهُوَ عَاصِمٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Asram (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have bought a slave; please pray to Allah Almighty for blessing for him, and change his name." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your name?" I said: "Asram." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, you are Zur'ah. What do you want to name him?" He said: "Zarra'." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is Asim."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
