Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When Hasan was born, I named him Harb, because I liked to have the kunyah Abu Harb. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, performed tahnik for him, and then asked: What have you named my son? We said: Harb. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He is Hasan. Then Husayn was born and I named him Harb. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, performed tahnik for him, and asked: What have you named my son? We said: Harb. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He is Husayn.
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar with various chains, the narrators of one of which are the narrators of the Sahih.
