Majma al-Zawaid 12866 — Changing names, the names that are prohibited

Sayyiduna Hisham bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: What is your name? He replied: Shihab. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Rather, you are Hisham.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Ali bin Zayd, who is hasan al-hadith (his narrations are good), and there is weakness in him. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
