وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ :
" سَمُّوا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تُكَنُّوا بِكُنْيَتِي " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Give names according to my name, but do not take a kunyah according to my kunyah."
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains, and the narrators of one of them are thiqat (trustworthy).
