Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any man who draws aside a curtain and sends his gaze (into the house) before he has been given permission has committed something that was not permissible for him. If someone were to put out his eye, that eye would go unavenged. And if a man passes by a door that has no curtain and sees something private, there is no sin upon him, for the fault lies with the people of the house." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) He attributed this narration to Imam al-Tirmidhi, but I have not found it there.
Imam Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who has some weakness. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
