بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي السَّلَامِ وَإِفْشَائِهِ وَفَضْلِهِ

Majma al-Zawaid 12725 — Reports on the greeting of peace, spreading
وَعَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ تَسْلَمُوا ، وَالْأَشَرَةُ شَرٌّ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى وَقَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ : الْأَشَرَةُ يَعْنِي : كَثْرَةَ الْغَيْثِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى وَقَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ : الْأَشَرَةُ يَعْنِي : كَثْرَةَ الْغَيْثِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Spread the greeting of peace (salam) and you will remain safe; and ashara is evil."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it. He says: Abu Mu'awiyah stated: "Ashara" means an abundance of rain. Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
