Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12726

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Al-Salam is one of the names of Allah Almighty, which He has placed on earth as a greeting for the people of our religion and as a guarantee of safety for our dhimmis (protected non-Muslim citizens)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir. Its chain contains Ismah bin Muhammad al-Ansari, who is matruk (abandoned).
