Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12722

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I bear witness on behalf of Allah Almighty that whenever an intelligent person stumbles, Allah Almighty raises him up; then when he stumbles, Allah Almighty raises him up; then when he stumbles, Allah Almighty raises him up, until Allah Almighty brings him into Paradise."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Umar bin al-Rumi; Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and a group called him da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
