Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "The first thing you will find missing from your religion is trustworthiness, and the last thing that will remain of your religion is prayer. Some people will pray who have no religion, and the Qur'an will be taken away from among you." The narrator says: He said: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman! Do we not recite the Qur'an? Have we not preserved it in book form?" Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "A night will come upon the Qur'an when it will depart from the breasts of people, and then nothing of it will remain on the face of the earth."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Shaddad bin Ma'qil, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
