Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12311

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has not made lawful during tribulation anything which He had made unlawful before that. What is the matter with one of you, that he comes to his brother and greets him with salam, and then after that, when he comes to him, he kills him?"
Al-Tabarani recorded this narration; its chain contains Abd al-Malik bin Muhammad al-San'ani, whom Ayyub bin Sulayman and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), and there is weakness in him.
