Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us; his complexion was radiant and signs of joy were evident on his face. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw my Lord in the most beautiful form. He said to me: O Muhammad, do you know what the Highest Assembly (al-Mala' al-A'la) is disputing about? I replied: O my Lord, about the expiations (kaffarat). He said: What are the expiations? I replied: Performing ablution thoroughly at times when it is disagreeable to one's nature, going on foot to the prayer, and waiting for the next prayer after a prayer.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain mentions that Abdullah bin Ibrahim bin al-Husayn narrated it from his father, and I have not seen anyone who gave an account of either of them.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Other hadiths of this kind will come in the chapter on "Waiting for the prayer" and in the chapter on "Dream interpretation", if Allah wills.
