بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يَأْمُرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلَا يَفْعَلُهُ .
One who enjoins good but does not do it himself
Majma al-Zawaid 12184 — One who enjoins good but
وَعَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ شَهْرٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " خُذُوا بِقَوْلِ قُرَيْشٍ وَدَعُوا فِعْلَهُمْ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ مُجَالِدٍ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ .
Sayyiduna Amir bin Shahr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Take the (good) sayings of Quraysh and leave their (bad) deeds!"
