Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11792

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out in a state of anger. Addressing the people, he said: "Whatever you ask about today, I will tell you about it." The narrator says: We thought that Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) was with him. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: After that he mentioned the full hadith, in which further on are these words: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are people who have only recently left the days of ignorance (Jahiliyyah), so do not expose our faults before us. Pardon us; may Allah Almighty pardon you."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
