Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11522

Sayyidah Hafsah bint Sirin (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to us: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from withholding small articles of use. I asked: What is meant by small articles of use? She said: Those things that people commonly give to one another. Its chain contains Abd al-Rahman bin Amr bin Jabalah, who is matruk (abandoned).
