عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ : أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - سُورَةُ الْمَائِدَةِ ، وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فَلَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ تَحْمِلَهُ فَنَزَلَ عَنْهَا . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَالْأَكْثَرُ عَلَى ضَعْفِهِ ، وَقَدْ يُحَسَّنُ حَدِيثُهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Surah al-Ma'idah was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was riding his mount, and the mount was not able to bear his weight, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) got down from it.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah; most have declared him da'if (weak), though his hadith has been graded hasan (good). The rest of the narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
