Book of Tafsir
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ وَقَوْلُهُ : نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ .
The saying of Allah the Exalted: "And they ask you about menstruation", and His saying: "Your wives are a place of cultivation for you"

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : إِنَّمَا أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ رُخْصَةً فِي إِتْيَانِ الدُّبُرِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ وَهُوَ حَافِظٌ ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ : لَيْسَ بِذَاكَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ وَهُوَ حَافِظٌ ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ : لَيْسَ بِذَاكَ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: This verse was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Your wives are a tilth for you." So this was a concession regarding intercourse in the rear passage.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his shaykh Ali bin Sa'id bin Bashir, who is a hafiz; al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) said about him: He is not of that standing. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
