بَابٌ فِي مَنْ حَضَرَ قَتْلَ مَظْلُومٍ أَوْ عُقُوبَتَهُ
One who is present at the killing or punishment of a wronged person

عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ - وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَا يَشْهَدَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ قَتِيلًا ; لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا فَتُصِيبُهُ السُّخْطَةُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَعَسَى أَنْ يُقْتَلَ مَظْلُومًا ; فَتَنْزِلَ السُّخْطَةُ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَتُصِيبَهُ مَعَهُمْ " . وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَعَسَى أَنْ يُقْتَلَ مَظْلُومًا ; فَتَنْزِلَ السُّخْطَةُ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَتُصِيبَهُ مَعَهُمْ " . وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Kharashah bin al-Hurr (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), reports this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "None of you should ever be present at the killing of anyone, for perhaps he is being killed wrongfully, and then the displeasure (of Allah) will reach (the one who was present) as well."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, but (al-Tabarani) recorded these words: "It may be that someone is killed wrongfully, and then displeasure will descend upon those people, and it will strike him along with them (the one who was present there, even though he did not take part in the killing)." Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah; his hadith is hasan (good), though there is weakness in him, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
