وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ قَالَ : بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقُلْتُ : بِيَمِينِكَ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " ، وَخَطَبَنَا يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ . . . . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَلَهُ طُرُقٌ فِي الْفِتَنِ ، وَتَقَدَّمَتْ لَهُ طُرُقٌ فِي الْخُطَبِ فِي الْحَجِّ ، وَطُرُقٌ فِي الْفِتَنِ .
In one narration the wording is: The narrator said: I gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I said: "With the right hand (or: with your oath)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." Then he addressed us on the day of al-Aqabah; after this the narrator mentioned the whole hadith.
