عَنْ أَبِي غَادِيَةَ قَالَ : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ فَقَالَ : " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، إِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ تَلْقَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ ، كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا ، فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا ، فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا . أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ ؟ " قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ ، أَلَا لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Ghadiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of al-Aqabah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us and said: "O people, your lives and your wealth are sacred to one another until the day you meet your Lord, just as this day of yours is sacred, in this city of yours, in this month of yours. Behold, have I conveyed (the message)?" The people said: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, be witness." (Then he said:) "Behold, do not turn back into disbelievers after me, striking one another's necks."
