Majma al-Zawaid 10704 — No one is held liable for another's crime

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said during the Farewell Hajj: "Do not turn back into disbelievers after me, striking one another's necks. No man will be seized for the crime of his brother, nor will he be seized for the crime of his father."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Mihsan, who is matruk (abandoned).
