عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " تَجَاوَزُوا لِلسَّخِيِّ عَنْ ذَنْبِهِ ; فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَأْخُذُ بِيَدِهِ عِنْدَ عَثْرَتِهِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الدَّارِسِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Overlook the wrongdoing of a generous person, for Allah Almighty takes him by the hand when he stumbles."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Bishr bin Ubaydullah al-Darisi, who is da'if (weak).
