وَعَنْ الشَّرِيدِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِذَا شَرِبَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْخَمْرَ فَاضْرِبُوهُ ، فَإِنْ عَادَ فَاضْرِبُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاضْرِبُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna al-Sharid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When one of you drinks wine, beat him; then if he does it again, beat him; then if he does it again, beat him; then if he does it a fourth time, kill him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abdullah bin Utbah bin Urwah bin Mas'ud al-Thaqafi, and I do not know him; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
