وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَلَى أَهْلِ الْقَلِيبِ فَقَالَ : " يَا أَهْلَ الْقَلِيبِ ، هَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا ، فَإِنِّي وَجَدْتُ مَا وَعَدَنِي رَبِّي حَقًّا" .
قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَ مَا تَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ : " مَا أَنْتُمْ بِأَسْمَعَ لِمَا أَقُولُ مِنْهُمْ ، وَلَكِنَّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ لَا يُجِيبُونَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَ مَا تَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ : " مَا أَنْتُمْ بِأَسْمَعَ لِمَا أَقُولُ مِنْهُمْ ، وَلَكِنَّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ لَا يُجِيبُونَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and stood by the people of the pit and said: "O people of the pit, have you found what your Lord promised you to be true? For I have found what my Lord promised me to be true." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah, do these people hear what you are saying?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You do not hear what I am saying better than they do, but today they are people who cannot reply."
