Among the books sent by Allah Almighty for the guidance of mankind, the Holy Quran holds the final and highest position

There are countless books written by humans in the world, and some of these books have also proven to be influential, but the impact of the Holy Quran is far more extensive and lasting than them. While human writings have left their effects within limited circles, the Quran brought about a revolution throughout the world, giving people a new way of life and a new concept of governance.

The Influence of the Quran

Reforming a person is one of the most difficult tasks, yet the Quran addressed the individual directly, positively changing his thoughts, habits, and even emotions. The Quran presented the concept of forming a righteous society based on the purity of thought and character and truly established it. It taught the state to be founded on freedom, justice, and equality and demonstrated its practical experience to the world.

The Quran is not a reaction

Some people consider the revolution of the Quran as a reaction to the global or Arab conditions of that time, when the world was suffering from political turmoil, religious misguidance, the extravagance of kings, public misery, class struggle, and moral decline. This theory overlooks the true essence of the Quran. The revolution brought about by the Quran was neither based on revenge nor were its effects temporary; it was a comprehensive revolution based on ethics and law that possessed immense attraction for absorption and acceptance.

The Concept of Monotheism

The concept of the oneness of Allah Almighty is inherent in human nature, but the admixture of polytheism has diluted it. The Holy Quran presented a pure and unadulterated concept of monotheism and explained that Allah Almighty is the sole Creator and Owner of this universe, and He is not detached from this universe but is dominant over it every moment. The Quran made it clear that acknowledging anyone other than Allah Almighty is baseless.

The Relationship Between Allah and Man

The Quran strengthened the relationship between humans and Allah Almighty and informed that their birth, sustenance, health, and death and life are all under Allah’s control. Describing this relationship, the Quran says that a person does not need any intermediary or means; they can establish a direct connection with Allah.

Allah Almighty’s Forgiveness

It is common for humans to commit sins, but the Quran has stated that the doors of repentance are always open and Allah Almighty forgives even the greatest sins. The Quran gave hope to humans that Allah is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful, and at any moment in life, one can repent and turn towards Allah.

Belief in the Hereafter

The world is temporary, while the Hereafter is eternal. The Quran explained the balance between the world and the Hereafter and reminded humans that on the Day of Judgment, every person will have to account for their deeds. The Quran presented the concept of the Hereafter as a living reality and refuted false notions about it.

Balance between Materialism and Spirituality

Human life requires a balance between materialism and spirituality. The Quran created harmony between the two, disapproved of renouncing the world and monasticism, and encouraged benefiting from the blessings of the world within permissible limits.

The Superiority of Man

The Quran declared man as the noblest of creation and stated that Allah has subjected everything in the world for the benefit of man. This universe is a factory for the benefit of man, and the Quran appointed man as Allah’s vicegerent, who is to enforce His commands on earth.

The Scope of Thought and Action

The Quran gave importance to the vast field of humanity and invited man to think beyond his limited familial and national interests towards the welfare of mankind.

Freedom and Open Space

Man was shackled by the chains of religion, customs, and traditions. The Quran gave him freedom and expanded the scope of thought and action, stating that there is no compulsion in religion. It gave man complete freedom to choose his path based on evidence and proofs.

The Relationship of Belief with All Aspects of Life

The Quran presented a comprehensive system of life based on the beliefs of Tawheed, Prophethood, and the Hereafter, which includes worship, ethics, economy, society, and law. It is a complete code of life that the world saw in its entirety for the first time.

Conclusion

The Holy Quran showed humanity new paths of thought and action, ended polytheism and unrestrained living, and introduced the concept of concern for the Hereafter and success. The Quran taught the world the harmony of materialism and spirituality and freed humans from natural constraints, showing the way to balance and progress in life.
