Question:
Is it prescribed to recite the Du‘a of Wasilah after every Adhan? If yes, should this Du‘a be made with raised hands or just verbally without raising the hands? Also, regarding the Adhan that is given before the Arabic Khutbah (as practiced among the Barelwi group), can Du‘a be made with raised hands after that Adhan as well?

Answer:
Alhamdulillah, wassalatu wassalamu ‘ala Rasulillah, amma ba‘d!

In the Hadith, it is clearly mentioned and commanded that after the Adhan, one should send blessings (Darood) upon the Prophet ﷺ and make the Du‘a of Wasilah.
(Bukhari, Kitab al-Adhan, Bab al-Du‘a ‘inda al-Nida’)

However, as far as raising the hands during this Du‘a is concerned, there is no mention of it in the Qur’an or Sunnah, to the extent of my knowledge.
