Hadith 178
أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَتْ أَحَدَكُمُ امْرَأَتُهُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَلا يَمْنَعْهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of your wives seeks permission to go to the mosque, he should not prevent her."
Hadith 179
أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مَوْلَى أُبَيٍّ ، قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ : هَكَذَا قَرَأَهُ عَلَيْنَا الْمُزَنِيُّ عَنْ مَوْلَى أَبِي رُهْمٍ , قَالَ : لَقِيَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ امْرَأَةً ، فَقَالَ : أَيْنَ تُرِيدِينَ ؟ فَقَالَتِ : الْمَسْجِدَ قَالَ : وَلَهُ خَرَجْتِ أَوْ لَهُ تَطَيَّبْتِ ؟ قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ تَطَيَّبَتْ ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ تُرِيدُ الْمَسْجِدَ لَمْ يُقْبَلْ لَهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا وَلا صِيَامٌ حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ فَتَغْتَسِلَ غُسْلَهَا مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ " .
It is narrated from Mawla Abi Zahm, may Allah have mercy on him, that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, met a woman on the road. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, asked her: "Where are you going?" She replied: "To the mosque." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "You have set out for the mosque and have also applied perfume?" She said: "Yes." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "I heard the Noble Prophet ﷺ say: 'Any woman who applies perfume and then leaves her house for the mosque, her prayer and her fast are not accepted until she returns home and performs a ritual bath (ghusl) as for major impurity.'"
Hadith 180
أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تَمْنَعُوا إِمَاءَ اللَّهِ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ وَلْتَخْرُجْنَ وَهُنَّ تَفِلاتٌ " . قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ : يَعْنِي غَيْرَ مُتَطَيِّبَاتٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from coming to the mosques. They should go out wrapped in large cloaks without adornment."
Hadith 181
أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى " . قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ : عَمُّ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْمَازِنِيُّ أَحَدُ الْمَقْتُولِينَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَهُوَ عَمُّ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ وَأَخُوهُ لأُمِّهِ .
‘Abbad bin Tamim narrates from his uncle (Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin Zayd, may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ lying on his back in the mosque with one leg placed over the other.
Hadith 182
أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى " .
‘Abbad bin Tamim narrates from his uncle (Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin Zayd, may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ lying flat on his back in the mosque with one leg placed over the other.
Hadith 183
أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى " . قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ : عَمُّ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْمَازِنِيُّ أَحَدُ الْمَقْتُولِينَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَهُوَ عَمُّ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ وَأَخُوهُ لأُمِّهِ .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed in a cloak and said: "This has distracted me from prayer. Take it to Abu Jahm (may Allah be pleased with him) and bring an Anbijani cloak in exchange for it."
Hadith 184
أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى " .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Abu Juhm bin Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) presented the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a Syrian cloak which had stripes on it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed in it. When he returned, he said: "Return this cloak to Abu Juhm (may Allah be pleased with him). I saw these markings during the prayer and it was close to putting me to trial."
