Abdullah bin Abi Bakr bin Muhammad bin Amr bin Hazm (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to Amr bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding blood money (diyah) that the blood money for a life is one hundred camels; if the nose is completely cut off, the compensation is one hundred camels; for a wound reaching the brain, the compensation is one third of the diyah; for a wound reaching inside the abdomen, the compensation is also one third of the diyah; for one eye, the compensation is fifty camels; for one hand, fifty camels; for one foot, fifty camels; for each finger, ten camels; for one tooth, five camels; and for a wound exposing the bone, five camels.
