عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَعْفُورٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ أَكْلِ الْجَرَادِ ، فَقَالَ : " غَزَوْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِتَّ غَزَوَاتٍ أَوْ سَبْعًا فَكُنَّا نَأْكُلُ الْجَرَادَ .
Abu Ya’foor ‘Abdi (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him): What is the ruling on eating locusts? He replied: I participated in six or seven expeditions with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and we used to eat locusts.
