Hadith 532

عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطَعَ يَدَ سَارِقٍ فِي مِجَنٍّ قُوِّمَ بِثَلاثَةِ دَرَاهِمَ أَوْ رُبُعِ دِينَارٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the hand of a thief to be cut off for stealing a shield worth three dirhams or a quarter of a dinar.
