Hadith 515

عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ لِيَقْتَطِعَ بِهَا مَالَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ " ، قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ شَيْئًا يَسِيرًا ؟ قَالَ : " وَإِنْ كَانَ سِوَاكًا مِنْ أَرَاكٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears a false oath in order to seize the wealth of a Muslim will meet Allah while Allah is angry with him." The narrator said: O Messenger of Allah! Even if it is something insignificant? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if it is a miswak from the arak tree."
