It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became the owner of (100) shares in Khaybar, which he had purchased and marked out. Then he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have acquired wealth such as I have never acquired before, and I intend to give it in charity to seek nearness to Allah, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: “Withhold the original land and give its yield in charity.”
