أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ بِلالا يُنَادِي بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ " . قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَجُلا أَعْمَى لا يُنَادِي حَتَّى يُقَالَ لَهُ : أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ .
Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Bilal gives the call to prayer at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum gives the call to prayer." The narrator says that Ibn Umm Maktum was blind; he would give the call to prayer only when it was said to him, "Morning has come, you have entered the morning."
