Hadith 280

عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لِلْبِكْرِ سَبْعٌ وَلِلثَّيِّبِ ثَلاثٌ فَتِلْكُمُ السُّنَّةُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that (when a married man) marries a virgin woman, he should stay with her for seven days, and if he marries a widow or a divorced woman, he should stay with her for three days (then establish the turn). This is the Sunnah.
