Hadith 279

عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : " كُنَّا نَبِيعُ سَرَارِيَّنَا أُمَّهَاتِ الأَوْلادِ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَيٌّ فِينَا لا نَرَى بِذَلِكَ بَأْسًا " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we used to sell our slave women who were mothers of children while the Prophet ﷺ was alive among us, and we did not see any harm in it.
