حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَغَرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةُ جَلَسَتِ الْمَلائِكَةُ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ يَكْتُبُونَ النَّاسَ الأَوَّلَ فَالأَوَّلَ فَكَالَّذِي يُهْدِي بَدَنَةً ، ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي بَقَرَةً ، ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي كَبْشًا ، ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي دَجَاجَةً ، ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي بَيْضَةً ، فَإِذَا خَرَجَ الإِمَامُ طَوَوَا الصُّحُفَ وَجَلَسُوا يَسْتَمِعُونَ الذِّكْرَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of Friday, the angels sit at the doors of the mosques and record the attendance of the people. The one who comes first is as if he has offered a camel in sacrifice, the next one as if a cow, the next one as if a ram, the next one as if a chicken, and the next one as if an egg. Then when the Imam comes out for the sermon, the angels fold up their scrolls and sit down to listen to the remembrance (the Book and the Sunnah).
