Hadith 13

وَأَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُسَافَرُ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ آمِنًا لا يَخَافُ إِلا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ , يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would travel from Madinah to Makkah in a state of security, fearing none except Allah, yet he would still shorten the prayer to two rak‘ahs.
