Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Allah benefited me through a word I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when I was about to join the people of the Camel and fight alongside them. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was talking to the people in a gathering. A bedouin said: O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour come? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued with his talk. Some people who had heard his words said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked it, and some said that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had not heard him at all. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished his talk, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?" He said: Here I am, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When trust begins to be lost, then wait for the Hour." They said: O Messenger of Allah, what does losing trust mean? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When authority is entrusted to those unfit for it, then wait for the Hour."
