أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّد بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنِي شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ أَنْفَقَ زَوْجَيْنِ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْأَشْيَاءِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ دُعِيَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ هَذَا خَيْرٌ، وَلِلْجَنَّةِ أَبْوَابٌ، فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصَّلَاةِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجِهَادِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الْجِهَادِ، وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصَّدَقَةِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الصَّدَقَةِ، وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصِّيَامِ دُعِيَ مِنْ بَابِ الصِّيَامِ بَابِ الرَّيَّانِ ". قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: مَا عَلَى مَنْ يُدْعَى مِنْ تِلْكَ الْأَبْوَابِ مِنْ ضَرُورَةٍ، وَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ يُدْعَى مِنْهَا كُلِّهَا أَحَدٌ؟ فَقَالَ: " نَعَمْ، وَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ ". رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي الْيَمَانِ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ أَوْجُهٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever spends two portions of his wealth in the way of Allah will be called from all the gates of Paradise: 'O servant of Allah, this is good.' Paradise has (eight) gates. Whoever is among those who pray will be called from the gate of prayer. Whoever is among those who strive in jihad will be called from the gate of jihad. Whoever kept giving charity will be called from the gate of charity. Whoever kept fasting will be called from the gate of al-Rayyan." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Though there is no need to be called from every gate, will anyone be called from all of these gates? In answer, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, and I hope that you will be among them, O Abu Bakr."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ السَّمَّاكِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْمُنَادِي، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ صَعْصَعَةَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: لَقِيتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُودُ جَمَلًا لَهُ، أَوْ يَسُوقُهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ قِرْبَةٌ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَا لَكَ؟ قَالَ: لِي عَمَلِي، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ مَا لَكَ؟ قَالَ: لِي عَمَلِي، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَلَا تُحَدِّثُنِي شَيْئًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمَيْنِ يَمُوتُ لَهُمَا ثَلَاثَةٌ "، يَعْنِي مِنَ الْوَلَدِ، " لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحِنْثَ إِلَّا أَدْخَلَهُمَا اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمْ، وَمَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْفَقَ زَوْجَيْنِ مِنْ مَالِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلَّا ابْتَدَرَتْهُ حَجَبَةُ الْجَنَّةِ "..
Sa'sa'ah bin Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I met Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was driving his camel, and he had a water-skin with him. I said: O Abu Dharr, what is your wealth? He said: My deeds. I asked: O Abu Dharr! He said: My deeds, my deeds. He said: I asked a third time: What is your wealth? He said: My deeds. I said: Narrate to me a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Any Muslim whose three children die before reaching puberty, Allah will admit the parents to Paradise by His mercy; and any Muslim who spends two portions of his wealth in the way of Allah, the gatekeepers of Paradise will hasten towards him."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، وَيُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ، زَادَ: " إِلَّا اسْتَقْبَلَتْهُ حَجَبَةُ الْجَنَّةِ كُلُّهُمْ يَدْعُوهُ إِلَى مَا قِبَلَهُ ". قُلْتُ: كَيْفَ ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ: " إِنْ كَانَ رِجَالًا فَرَجُلَيْنِ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ إِبِلًا فَبَعِيرَيْنِ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ غَنَمًا فَشَاتَيْنِ.
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: All the gatekeepers of Paradise will race to call him towards themselves. I said: How is that? The narrator said: "If they are mounts, then he gives two mounts; if camels, two camels; and if goats, two goats."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ فُورَكٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ بَشَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي سَيْفٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ غُضَيْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ أَنْفَقَ نَفَقَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَاضِلَةً فَسَبْعَمِائَةٍ، وَمَنْ أَنْفَقَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، أَوْ قَالَ: عَلَى أَهْلِهِ، أَوْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا، أَوْ أَمَاطَ أَذًى فَالْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا، وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مَا لَمْ يَخْرِقْهَا، وَمَنِ ابْتَلَاهُ اللهُ بِبَلَاءٍ فِي جَسَدِهِ فَلَهُ حِطَّةٌ ".
Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever spends surplus wealth in the way of Allah will be given up to seven hundred times the reward; whoever spends on himself or on his family, or visits a sick person, or removes something harmful from the road, his good deed will be multiplied up to ten times; fasting is a shield as long as it is not broken; and whoever Allah afflicts with a bodily illness, it is an expiation for his sins."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أنبأ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، ثنا بَشَّارُ بْنُ أَبِي سَيْفٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ غُطَيْفٍ. قَالَ يَزِيدُ: وَأَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ غُطَيْفٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ وَعِنْدَهُ امْرَأَتُهُ تَحِيفُهُ، وَوَجْهُهُ مِمَّا يَلِي الْحَائِطَ، فَقُلْنَا: كَيْفَ بَاتَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ؟ فَقَالَتْ: بَاتَ بِأَجْرٍ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ: مَا بِتُّ بِأَجْرٍ، فَسَاءَنَا ذَلِكَ وَسَكَتْنَا، فَقَالَ: لَا تَسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا قُلْتُ؟ فَقُلْنَا: مَا سَرَّنَا ذَلِكَ فَنَسْأَلَكَ عَنْهُ. فَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ أَنْفَقَ نَفَقَةً فَاضِلَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَسَبْعُمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ، وَمَنْ أَنْفَقَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، أَوْ أَمَاطَ أَذًى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ، أَوْ تَصَدَّقَ بِصَدَقَةٍ فَحَسَنَةٌ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا، وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مَا لَمْ يَخْرِقْهَا، وَمَنِ ابْتَلَاهُ اللهُ بِبَلَاءٍ فِي جَسَدِهِ فَهُوَ لَهُ حِطَّةٌ "..
Al-Walid bin Abd al-Rahman narrates from Iyad bin Ghutayf: We visited Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) in his final illness; his wife was with him, and his face was turned towards the wall. We asked: "How did Abu Ubaydah spend the night?" His wife said: "He spent the night earning reward." Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) turned towards us and said: "I did not spend the night in reward." That troubled us, and we fell silent. Then he said: "Why do you not ask me about what I said?" We said: "It did not please us, so that we should ask you about it." He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever spends surplus wealth in the way of Allah will be given up to seven hundred times the reward; whoever spends on himself and his family, or removes something harmful from the road, or gives some charity, his good deed will be rewarded tenfold; fasting, when completed, serves as a shield; and whoever Allah, the Lord of Might, afflicts with a bodily illness, that illness will become a means of forgiveness of his sins."
وأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءٍ، أنبأ مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ، ثنا وَاصِلٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي سَيْفٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، رَجُلٌ مِنْ فُقَهَاءِ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ غُطَيْفٍ ح قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَا: ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا وَاصِلٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ بَشَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي سَيْفٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ غُطَيْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ. وَرَوَاهُ سُلَيْمُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّ غُضَيْفَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ: الْوَصَبُ يُكَفَّرُ بِهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا. قَالَ الْبُخَارِيُّ: الصَّحِيحُ غُضَيْفُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الشَّامِيُّ.
Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that illness becomes an expiation for sins.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ الْعَامِرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَاقَةٍ مَخْطُومَةٍ فَقَالَ: هِيَ لِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَذِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَكَ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ سَبْعُمِائَةٍ كُلُّهَا مَخْطُومَةٌ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ.
Abu Mas'ud Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that a man brought a she-camel with a halter and said: "This is for Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection you will receive seven hundred she-camels in return for it, all of them with halters."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَقَدْ غَزَا، وَمَنْ خَلَفَهُ فِي أَهْلِهِ بِخَيْرٍ فَقَدْ غَزَا ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، وَأَخْرَجَاهُ كَمَا مَضَى.
Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever provides equipment to one who wages jihad in the path of Allah, it is as though he waged jihad himself; and whoever takes care of the family of a mujahid, it is as though he took part in the jihad."
حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ الْإِمَامُ أَبُو الطَّيِّبِ سَهْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ إِمْلَاءً، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، أنبأ أَبِي وَشُعَيْبُ بْنُ اللَّيْثِ، قَالَا: أنبأ اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ أَظَلَّ رَأْسَ غَازٍ أَظَلَّهُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا حَتَّى يَسْتَقِلَّ كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ حَتَّى يَمُوتَ أَوْ يَرْجِعَ، وَمَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ فِيهِ اسْمُ اللهِ بَنَى اللهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ "..
Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever provides shade for one going out on a military expedition, Allah will provide shade for him on the Day of Resurrection; whoever equips one going out on an expedition until he is fully provided for will receive a reward equal to the fighter's, until he is martyred or returns; and whoever builds a mosque in which the name of Allah is remembered, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، وَأَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الشَّاذْيَاخِيُّ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، فَذَكَرُوا الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِهِ، وَزَادُوا قَالَ: وَقَالَ الْوَلِيدُ: فَذَكَرْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ لِلْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ: قَدْ بَلَغَنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ: فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، وَلِزَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، فَكِلَاهُمَا قَدْ قَالَ: بَلَغَنِي هَذَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Through another chain the same hadith is reported, with this addition: Al-Walid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I mentioned this hadith to al-Qasim bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: This hadith has reached me from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: Then I mentioned it to Muhammad bin al-Munkadir and Zayd bin Aslam (may Allah have mercy on them both), and both of them said: This has reached me from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْوَرَّاقُ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْزُوَ فَقَالَ: " يَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ، إِنَّ مِنْ إِخْوَانِكُمْ قَوْمًا لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مَالٌ وَلَا عَشِيرَةٌ، فَلْيَضُمَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ أَوِ الثَّلَاثَةَ، فَمَا لِأَحَدِنَا مِنْ ظَهْرِ جَمَلٍ إِلَّا عُقْبَةٌ كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ ". قَالَ: فَضَمَمْتُ إِلِيَّ اثْنَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً مَا لِي عُقْبَةٌ إِلَّا كَعُقْبَةِ أَحَدِهِمْ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to go out for jihad, he said: "O company of the Muhajirun and the Ansar! Among your brothers are people who have neither wealth nor clan, so let each of you take two or three men along with him." Each of us had a turn (on the camel) just like the turn they had. The narrator says: I took two or three men along with me, and my turn was just like theirs.
