It is reported from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she once fell ill, and some of her nephews mentioned her illness to a man of the Zutt who practised medicine. He said to them: "You are describing a woman who has been bewitched; her slave girl has worked sorcery on her. That slave girl now has a child in her lap who has urinated in her lap." They came and told Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) of this, and she said: "Call such-and-such slave girl for me." They said: "Such-and-such child of ours is in her lap and has urinated in her lap." She said: "Bring her to me." She was brought, and she asked: "Did you bewitch me?" She said: "Yes." She asked: "Why?" She said: "I wanted to be freed." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had made her free upon her own death (mudabbarah). Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I vow to Allah that you will never be freed. Find the Arabs who treat their slaves worst and sell her to them." Then she bought another slave girl with her price and freed her.

Ibn al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A woman came to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: "What if I bind my camel by sorcery?" She said: "That is fine." She said: "What if I bind my husband to myself?" Then she (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Put her out of here; she is a sorceress." So she was put out.
