It is narrated from Amir bin Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah have mercy on him) that Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) informed his father, Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), saying that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I practise withdrawal ('azl) with my wife. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked sufrah, meaning khaluq (a perfume with a yellow colour), and he disliked plucking out white hairs, and letting the lower garment drag, and wearing gold rings, and playing with dice (ka'ab), and displaying adornment, and spoiling a child, without declaring it unlawful. Yusuf said: Ali bin Abdullah narrated it to us with the same chain and the same meaning.
