Muharib (may Allah have mercy on him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Of the things Allah, the Lord of Might, has made lawful, the most disliked by Allah is divorce."
This is the hadith of Abu Dawud, and it is mursal. In the narration of Ibn Abi Shaybah it is connected (mawsul) from Abdullah bin Umar, but I do not think he preserved it accurately.

Muharib bin Dithar said that in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a man married and then divorced his wife. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Have you married?" He said: "Yes." He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Then what happened?" He said: "Then I divorced her." He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Was it because of some suspicion?" He said: "No." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sometimes a man does that." Then he married another woman and divorced her as well. Mu'arrif said: I do not know whether it was on the occasion of the second or the third marriage that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said these words: "Of the lawful things, the most hateful thing to Allah is divorce."

Abu Ishaq narrates from Abu Burdah (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man would say to his wife: "I have divorced you", and at times he would say: "I have taken you back." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, he said: "What is the matter with men that they play with the limits set by Allah?"
This is mursal.

Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) mentions it in connected form (mawsul), saying: "What is the condition of men?" And he said: "One of you says: 'I have divorced you, I have taken you back.'" He (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked this excess, or (disliked) pronouncing divorce without regard to its sunnah time.

Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that: "Why does one of you say to his wife: 'I have divorced you, and I have taken you back'? This is not the way Muslims divorce. Divorce women at the beginning of their state of purity."
