قَالَ اللهُ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُهُ: {إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ} [الطلاق: 1].
Allah (Exalted be His praise) says: "When you divorce women, divorce them at (the start of) their waiting period." [Surah al-Talaq: 1]
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا ⦗٥٢٧⦘ الْخَضِرُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " طَلَّقَ حَفْصَةَ ثُمَّ رَاجَعَهَا " وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ غَيْرُهُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ آدَمَ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) divorced Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) and then took her back.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ، أنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، نا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، نا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، نا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَتْ لِيَ امْرَأَةٌ كُنْتُ أُحِبُّهَا، وَكَانَ أَبِي يَكْرَهُهَا فَقَالَ لِي: طَلِّقْهَا، فَأَبَيْتُ، فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ: " طَلِّقْهَا " فَطَلَّقْتُهَا.
Hamzah, son of Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), narrates from his father that he said: I had a wife whom I loved, and my father disliked her. My father said to me: "Divorce her." I refused. He came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned it, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Divorce her." So I divorced her.
