Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Talhah heard Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) say: Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah, and his most beloved property was Bayruha', which faced the mosque. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to enter it and drink of its water. When this verse was revealed: "You will never attain righteousness until you spend from what you love" [Surah Al Imran: 92], Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Allah says in His Book: 'You will never attain righteousness until you spend from what you love' [Surah Al Imran: 92], and the most beloved of my properties is Bayruha', and it is a charity for Allah; I hope for its reward and that it be stored for me with Allah. O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Place it wherever Allah shows you." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Well done! That is a profitable wealth. I have heard what you said, and I think that you should give it to your relatives." Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I will do so, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)!" So Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) divided it among his relatives.
