Abdullah bin Babayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to carry a basket of manure to his land, and Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A basket of manure is like a basket of wheat. Al-Asma'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Al-'urrah means human excrement. The opposite of this has been narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), specifically concerning human excrement.

Usayd said: I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) when a man came to him and said: I used to sweep (for a living), until I married, freed (a slave) and performed Hajj. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked: What did you sweep? He said: Filth. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: You are vile, your freeing (of a slave) is vile, and your Hajj is impure; get out of it just as you entered it.
