It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I would rather die than give anyone's property to someone without his goodwill; a sale is only by mutual consent."

Salih bin Rustum said that a shaykh from Banu Tamim told us that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed us: "A biting time will come upon the people, when the well-off man will bite hard on what is in his hands, though he was not commanded to do so. Allah Almighty says: 'And do not forget graciousness between you' [Surah al-Baqarah: 237]."
"In that time the wicked will rise to prominence, the good will be humiliated, and people in desperate need will be made to sell, although the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of one in desperate need, the sale involving deception (gharar), and the sale of fruit before it is ripe."

Abu Amir al-Muzani said that a shaykh from Banu Tamim told us that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed us and said: "A time will come upon the people when the wicked will be given precedence, and the one in desperate need will be made to sell," although the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade "the sale of one in desperate need, the sale involving deception (gharar), and the sale of fruit before it is ripe."
This has been narrated through several routes from Ali and Ibn Umar, and none of them is strong.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let no one travel by sea except a fighter in Allah's cause, one performing Umrah, or one performing Hajj; let no one else travel by sea. For beneath the sea there is fire, beneath the fire there is water, and beneath that water there is fire. And the property of a Muslim in distress is not to be bought."
