أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْفَقِيهُ الشِّيرَازِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ، ثنا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَصْرِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، أنبأ يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ دَاسَةَ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ⦗١٩⦘ هُوَ لْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى هُوَ مُسْلِمٌ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْآيَاتُ الْأَوَاخِرُ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَرَأَهُنَّ عَلَيْنَا وَقَالَ: " حُرِّمَتِ التِّجَارَةُ فِي الْخَمْرِ " لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ يَعْلَى: الْآيَاتُ فِي آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الرِّبَا، وَقَالَ: فَتَلَاهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَحَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ. أَخْرَجَاهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ أَوْجُهٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، وَرَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ.
Al-A'mash narrates from Muslim, Muslim from Masruq, and he from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that when the verses of Surah al-Baqarah were revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited those verses to us and said: "Trading in wine has been made unlawful." In the narration of Ya'la it says that when the last verses of Surah al-Baqarah concerning usury (riba) were revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited those verses to the people and declared trading in wine unlawful.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ صَالِحُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ حُبَيْبَ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَشْرَسِ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى السَّامِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ: " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنِّي أَرَى اللهَ جَلَّ ذِكْرُهُ يُعَرِّضُ بِالْخَمْرِ، وَلَعَلَّ اللهَ سَيُنْزِلُ فِيهَا أَمْرًا، فَمَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ فَلْيَبِعْهُ وَلْيَنْتَفِعْ "، قَالَ: فَمَا لَبِثَ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا حَتَّى قَالَ: " إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ الْخَمْرَ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَتْهُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ وَعِنْدَهُ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ فَلَا يَشْرَبْ وَلَا يَبِعْ "، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ النَّاسُ بِمَا كَانَ عِنْدَهُمْ مِنْهَا طُرُقَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَسَفَكُوهَا. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيِّ.
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon in Madinah, saying: "O people! Allah Almighty dislikes wine, and perhaps Allah Almighty will reveal some command concerning it. So whoever has any wine with him, let him sell it and derive some benefit from it." He said: Then after only a short time he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has made wine unlawful. So whoever this verse reaches while he has some wine with him, let him neither drink it nor sell it." So the people set out with what they had, and poured the wine out in the streets of Madinah.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْفَقِيهُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ وَغَيْرُهُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ السَّبَائِيِّ، مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَمَّا يُعْصَرُ مِنَ الْعِنَبِ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: إِنَّ رَجُلًا أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَاوِيَةَ خَمْرٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " هَلْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللهَ قَدْ حَرَّمَهَا؟ " فَقَالَ: لَا، فَسَارَّ إِنْسَانًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " بِمَ سَارَرْتَهُ؟ " قَالَ: أَمَرْتُهُ أَنْ يَبِيعَهَا، قَالَ: " إِنَّ الَّذِي حَرَّمَ شُرْبَهَا حَرَّمَ بَيْعَهَا "، قَالَ: فَفَتَحَ الْمَزَادَتَيْنِ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ مَا فِيهَا..
A man from the people of Egypt, Abdur Rahman bin Wa'lah al-Saba'i, asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) about the juice pressed from grapes. He replied: A man presented the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a waterskin full of wine as a gift. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Do you know that Allah Almighty has made wine unlawful?" He said: "No." Then he whispered to a man. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What did you whisper to him?" He said: "I told him to sell it." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That whose drinking is unlawful, its selling is also unlawful." The narrator said: Then he opened the two waterskins until all that was in them was gone.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدٌ، أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ بِالْإِسْنَادَيْنِ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): the rest is the same hadith as preceded.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنَّ سَمُرَةَ بْنَ جُنْدُبٍ بَاعَ خَمْرًا، قَاتَلَ اللهُ سَمُرَةَ، أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَعَنَ اللهُ الْيَهُودَ؛ حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّحُومُ فَجَمَلُوهَا، فَبَاعُوهَا ". رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنِ الْحُمَيْدِيِّ، وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَغَيْرِهِ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) has sold wine. May Allah destroy Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him)! Does he not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has cursed the Jews; fat was made unlawful for them, so they melted it down and sold it."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْغَافِقِيِّ، مِنْ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ، وَمَوْلًى لَنَا يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو طُعْمَةَ، أَنَّهُمَا خَرَجَا مِنْ مِصْرَ حَاجَّيْنِ، فَجَلَسَا إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَذَكَرَ الْقِصَّةَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " لَعَنَ اللهُ الْخَمْرَ، وَشَارِبَهَا، وَسَاقِيَهَا، وَبَائِعَهَا، وَمُبْتَاعَهَا، وَعَاصِرَهَا، وَمُعْتَصِرَهَا، وَحَامِلَهَا، وَالْمَحْمُولَةَ إِلَيْهِ، وَآكِلَ ثَمَنِهَا ".
Abd al-Aziz bin Umar bin Abd al-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Abd al-Rahman bin Abdullah al-Ghafiqi and Abu Tu'mah both set out from Egypt for Makkah to perform Hajj. The two of them sat with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and related the whole story. He said that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Allah's curse is upon wine, upon the one who drinks it, the one who serves it, the one who buys it, the one who sells it, the one who presses it, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who carries it, the one to whom it is carried, and upon the one who consumes its price, Allah's curse is upon them."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ يَعْنِي الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا طُعْمَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْجُعْفِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ بَيَانٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ بَاعَ الْخَمْرَ فَلْيُشَقِّصِ الْخَنَازِيرَ ".
Urwah bin al-Mughirah narrates from his father, Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sells wine, let him also cut up pigs (for sale)."
